Most health practitioners just want to prescribe and keep you stuck in an endless loop of disempowerment where you rely on them for all your answers. My approach is the opposite – you learn to take charge of your own symptoms and recovery. That’s what my underlying philosophy is all about- empowerment – and where I find true, long term results are.
The reason for this is because I’ve been there, and know what it’s like when the Doctor tells you there’s nothing that can be done, and you end up relying on pills and medicine that only mask the root cause of your symptoms.
One of the things I’m often asked is
“How can I get better, for good?”
After my own rollercoaster journey of over twelve years, I felt empowered to get a handle on the most effective way to wellbeing.
I remember the frustration when I would eat what the food pyramid advocated, take the medication I was prescribed and do what Western Medicine was telling me and it wasn’t helping – in fact, I felt even more inflamed and ridden with symptoms.
I was fed up with waking up exhausted, feeling wiped out all the time, with a constant and mounting feeling of doom which made my whole body seize up with a sickening feeling to the pit of my stomach.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I knew there was a different way, one that would look at the root cause of what was going on with my body and brain, instead of relying on medication that was giving me more side effects than relief and masking the issue.

I started investigative – reading the latest research and studies, experimenting with different foods that lowered inflammation, replacing it with the medications I was taking. I started getting in tune with my body, and developed routines and rituals that helped me manage my gut symptoms and anxiety.
I would piece together bits and pieces of information, slowly and intuitively repairing my gut; the source of my inflammation that was flaring my symptoms and started to take back control of my energy levels, perception of stress and anxiety, restoring my sleep and feeling like myself again.
I discovered that eating foods that nourish and heal my gut was my foundation and then I started working on the other piece of the puzzle, the mind, and what scientists has now recently confirmed as the gut-brain connection.
I noticed when I felt stressed, my anxiety and gut issues would flare up again and knew that my recovery depended on having the consistency I needed from both sides of the fence; what I ate, but also managing my thoughts and stress levels.
I knew that when I was stressed, I would not only find it harder to stay on track and eat in a way that served me, but I would feel fatigued, bloated, my skin would break out and I felt that old crippling anxiety creeping in….

I experimented and saw the power of detoxing – my body with what I ate, my mind with any limiting beliefs holding me back and also the environment around me. I knew the things going on and into my body would end up affecting my mood, my ability to concentrate and how many symptoms I felt.
Coupled with restoring the good bacteria in my gut, I created self-care rituals that I consider essential in my ongoing wellbeing.
I was busy working a full time job, putting my heart and soul into my coaching, trying to keep up with friends (read: this rarely happened), my family, plus a relationship – and had always put myself last both physically and mentally. To be honest, I had taken my health for granted and thought self-care was a bit indulgent and for other people, not for me.
I saw the difference my body and brain felt when I started to create a positive mindset, and what the effect it had on how engaged, connected and fulfilled I felt.
I started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and with that, a greater ability to concentrate, more energy throughout the day, less pain…and I was able to get to sleep and stay asleep throughout the night for the first time in years!
These days I am fortunate to empower women in the same way I empowered myself. This is important for me especially to those women with auto-immune symptoms, who have been told, like I was, that medication is the only answer.
Through my own journey I discovered how to increase my energy, confidence, clarity and the self-efficacy to take back control of my wellbeing and now it’s my mission to do the same for the women I work with.
My approach is built on a foundation of empowerment and a commitment to support women in their own wellness journey – to gain the confidence, clarity in their mindset and real-time skills they need for long term success.
I’m here to help women reach the highest levels of their wellbeing and manifest that potential in them.
And it gives me such a rush when I women I coach empowered in the choices they make everyday that takes them in the right direction, being able to quickly lessen and get rid of their gut and auto-immune symptoms, stop flare ups and take control of their wellbeing. Especially when they’ve been told their condition is hopeless, chronic and incurable.
